Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is conducting vital resurfacing work on the westbound M8 between Arkleston Cemetery and the Junction 27 off-slip. This project will lead to road closures from Thursday, July 4, to Monday, July 15.
Initially, there will be a westbound lane closure between Junctions 26 and 27 from 8pm on Thursday, July 4, until 6am on Friday, July 5. Following this, overnight closures will occur nightly from 8pm to 6am starting Friday, July 5. Daytime lane closures will be in place from Saturday, July 6, to Monday, July 15, with an additional daytime closure of the Junction 27 off-slip road on Sunday, July 7, between 6am and 8pm.
Traffic diversions are as follows:
– Westbound traffic will exit the M8 at Junction 26, proceed onto the A736 Hillington Road, follow the westbound A8 Glasgow Road, and continue onto Glebe Street.
– From Glebe Street, traffic will use the A741 Paisley Road/Renfrew Road to rejoin the westbound M8 at Abbotsinch Roundabout.
– During the Junction 27 westbound off-slip road closure, traffic will continue to Junction 29 and return eastbound to take the Junction 27 eastbound off-slip.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout the duration of the work. The goal of this scheme is to improve the road’s condition and minimize the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
