Two fire engines were sent to tackle a blaze in a chimney.
People are being warned to sweep their own chimneys, and ensure their fireplaces are safe following the incident in Grace Avenue, Maidstone, at about 7.20pm yesterday.
No one was injured, and crews left shortly before 10pm.
A fire service spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a chimney fire in Grace Avenue, Maidstone.
“Two fire engines and a height vehicle attended, and crews used chimney gear and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
“There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.
“Crews are reminding everyone to make sure their chimneys are thoroughly swept before lighting fires, especially after a long time without use.”
