There is an air of anticipation, and every bar of the dramatic introduction crescendos with a cheer from the crowd as one by one members of the Black Veil Brides appear on the stage.
At its zenith the classical piece seamlessly blends into equally commanding guitar riffs, and frontman Andy Biersack runs on stage to the intro of Knives and Pens, a track from their debut album. “Lets go!” he growls.
The venue is packed with fans of all ages, many donning dramatic eyeliner in the glam-metal style that defined the band’s early visual identity. As the opening song ends, Biersack says “So this is a special show, a unique show. How many people is this your first time seeing us?.” There is a sizable cheer. “***ing ridiculous. This is the weirdest way of seeing us for the first time”

There’s not a moment of calm as the crowd goes wild for tracks off the newest rock opera album, Bleeders, Hallelujah and Vindicate. Biersack’s deep voice resounds over the audience, punctuated with powerful drums and intricate guitar riffs from Jinxx, Jake Pitts and bassist Lonny Eagleton.
Unfortunately, the band was not in their full outfit on the evening as drummer Christian Coma is absent from the Europe tour. Godsmack drummer Wade Murff filled in for Coma, expertly matching the original member’s vivacity.
The Concorde 2 show followed their performance at Download Festival the previous day, a juxtaposition Biersack noted saying “Yesterday we played for half of England, and today we’re playing this small club venue”.
The performance was interspersed with a lot of crowd interaction. Biersack spent much of the evening bantering with fans and answering questions. A stand-out moment was the impassioned destruction of a failed engagement ring a fan asked Biersack to step on.
Continuing the set, hits like The Legacy, Sweet Blasphemy and Rebel Love Song rang out across the venue.

Another treat for long-time fans in the audience was a stripped-back version of an old favourite. “Jinxx is gonna start playing and I’m gonna try not to **** it up,” Biersack said, leading the crowd to sing along to their 2011 hit Saviour.
They closed out the main set with Faithless, but returned to the stage for an electrifying encore of Fallen Angels with aptly named In the End finishing the night, keeping the energy high to the very last note.
The show was part of their three-date Un-Veiling tour in England, and the first time Black Veil Brides has rocked Brighton. With their anthemic riffs, captivating aesthetic and dynamic stage presence they’re definitely a band best experienced live.
Thanking the crowd for an amazing night, Biersack promised: “We’ll be back in the UK sooner than you think”, and the band has already announced a UK tour for January 2027.
