With no big council fireworks pencilled in, Belfast is swapping freezing crowds for céilís, cabaret and club nights. Here’s what’s on – from earlier nights to 3am dancefloors
The traditional overhead light show of Belfast’s fireworks on New Year’s Eve won’t be going ahead this year due to cost concerns. But, that doesn’t mean the city isn’t in for a good time with plenty of other entertainment planned to close out 2025 and bring in the new year.
Here are some of the events and celebrations that are going on in Belfast for New Year’s Eve. Be fast to book a ticket where possible or you could miss out.
The National
Address: The National, 62-68 High Street, Belfast, Antrim BT1 2BEWhat’s happening? The venue will be hosting Sip Sip Hooray, their New Year’s Eve night.
The National has got live music to kick start your evening from 5pm, DJs across all floors, and the garden from 9pm, plus they won’t stop the celebrations until 3am.
They also have the annual balloon drop when it strikes midnight.

Great Gatsby Spectacular at Revolucion De Cuba
Address: 25-39 Arthur St, Belfast BT1 4QG
What’s happening? Get ready to step back in time to the roaring 1920s for a New Year’s Eve bash like no other – think flappers, jazz, and all that glitters.
Doors open at 7pm and you can dress to impress with a black tie dress code. The event runs for six hours.

W5 Science Centre

A great venue for families, this place is open for both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, 2026.
The premises provides an interactive science adventure for children that is sure to both educate and entertain.
Jack Frost @ The Mac
Address: 10 Exchange St, West, Belfast BT1 2NJ
The iconic Christmas classic, Jack Frost is sure to be a treat for the whole family and will feature until New Year’s Day. It has several shows on the last day of 2025.
Billed as: “A snow-swirling, frost-twinkling Christmas adventure for the whole family,” this performance will see the much-loved Christmas tale brought to life on stage.

Stalemates at New Year

Tickets are reportedly selling fast to this event, which can be located here.
The evening which runs from 8pm to 11.30pm promises “lots of dancing”.
Organisers said: “Out with the old, in with the new? Not on Stalemates’ watch. They celebrate the music of yesteryear, sounds that remain thrilling, vital, joyous. Music to throw shapes to, to strike a pose, to work it, at your leisure.”
New Year Exclusive Party 2026
Address: The Botanic Inn, 23-27 Malone Road Belfast BT9 6RU
Located just down the road from Stalemates, you can have an all-nighter at this event as it runs from 9.30pm until 3.am. This allows you to well and truly bring in the new year.
