The landlords at The Constant Service, located at 96 Islingword Road in Hanover, have announced that they will soon step down from running the pub.
Their final day will be Sunday, March 16.
A heartfelt message was posted on the establishment’s Facebook page, addressing their patrons.
The post read: “To our wonderful customers, friends, and community, with a heavy heart, we announce that our time as tenants of The Constant Service is coming to an end.
“We want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who has walked through our doors.
“Whether you popped in for a quiet drink, joined us for a lively night, or simply made this place feel like home, you have been the heart and soul of The Constant.
“Though this chapter is closing, we will cherish the moments we’ve had and the friendships we’ve made.
They encouraged customers to join them again in their final days at the pub.
They wrote: “Our last day will be Sunday, March 16.
“Please join us in raising a glass over the next couple weeks as we say our goodbyes.
“With heartfelt gratitude, The Constant Family.”
This announcement has been met with a number of sad reactions on social media, with many expressing their dismay at the loss of the pub’s current management.
One wrote: “A real shame. Alex and the team did a great job building the pub back up from where it was, and really supported the local community.”
Another added: “Such a shame. You did a great job with it and were so friendly. Sorry to see you go!”
The Constant Service, owned by Harvey’s Brewery, has a long history as a community pub dating back to 1871.
Harvey’s says it is working on an advertisement inviting new tenancy applications.
The brewer says a number of parties were interested already, and it is hopeful a replacement tenant will be found shortly.
