The waiting rooms were packed to the rafters with locals and tourists, eager to take to the sky for the first time since the attraction’s three-month closure.
So, what did they all think?
Leah Sweetman and Tom Thornton from Gravesend in Kent were visiting Brighton for a weekend away to celebrate Leah’s birthday. It just so happened that their visit coincided with the re-opening of the i360.

Alongside visitors and i360 newbies were long-time Brighton locals and repeat customers.
David Mcdonagh and Muna are both Brighton locals and stalwart supporters of the attraction. They came to the original launch back in 2016.
David said: “We love it. It’s so good for the city. We were so sad when it closed, and the area went downhill even in that short space of time. People were dumping their Christmas trees. I’m so happy it has reopened.”

“The area round here used to be awful, it was a no-go zone. The i360 really rejuvenated this part of the city”, Muna said.
“It’s unique to Brighton. People say ‘bring back the wheel’ but every town has a wheel. There has been lots of negativity, but Brighton needs to be innovative and move forward with the times – we can’t just rely on our squares.”
“There has been a lot of negativity from people who haven’t even tried it”, agrees David.
Roos Jobse was visiting all the way from the Netherlands. Pictured here with Nick Robertson (Image: Argus staff) Roos Jobse all the way from the Netherlands was visiting Nick Robertson from Kemp Town and took a flight on the i360 for the first time.
Nick said: “It’s really nice. The pace of it is good and the music and bar are nice too. We have been very lucky with the weather, of course – I imagine it might be less good on a cloudy day.”
Cheers to that! Theresa Allen is a loyal customer (Image: Argus staff) Theresa Allen “loves” the i360 and has already been up the slender tower four times. At £5 a pop for residents, she said she will be making many more trips into the heavens in the future.
