After losing her “generous and caring” daughter, Lillie Clack, to a drunk driver on Christmas morning, a grieving Morden mum found a way to honour her memory.
With approval from Merton Council, Debbie opened Lillie’s in the Garden, a tea room that has since raised £5,000 in support of Eyes Wet Now, a charity helping bereaved families.

Kathryn Chapman, 42, has been fighting Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) since she was 10 years old, undergoing eight surgeries and a tough recovery after a major operation in 2022.
Now, she is celebrating a breakthrough – Belzutifan, a revolutionary take-at-home pill, has been approved in the UK as an alternative to surgery for patients like her.
5. Beckenham mum donates 1,000 advent calendars to Bromley Foodbank
After battling a rare form of head and neck cancer, Beckenham mum-of-four Donna was given the all-clear in September 2024.
To mark the occasion, she decided to spread joy by collecting and donating over 1,000 advent calendars to Bromley Borough Foodbank, ensuring children facing hardship had a little extra magic at Christmas.
6. Bromley woman named among the UK’s top female entrepreneurs
Becca Benning, a functional health coach from Bromley, has been recognised as one of the UK’s most inspiring female entrepreneurs.
She was selected for Small Business Britain’s f:Entrepreneur #IAlso100 campaign, which celebrates the achievements of women running businesses across the country.
Since launching her business in 2020, Becca has been empowering educators and clients with autoimmune diseases through her work.
7. Bromley’s Two Doves Pub ‘Welcomes Faces Old and New’
The historic Two Doves pub on Oakley Road in Bromley has been a community hub since 1834, surviving a devastating fire in the 1870s and continuing to serve locals ever since.
In April 2024, the pub entered a new chapter when long-time manager Steph Kirton took over ownership.
Now a true family business, her daughter Sadie has joined her, preparing fresh rolls, toasties, and sharing boards for customers from Monday to Saturday.
Under Steph’s leadership, the Two Doves remains a warm and welcoming space for both regulars and new visitors alike.
