Snapchat has unveiled new ways for users to customize their profiles, as announced on Tuesday. These updates, primarily accessible to Snapchat+ subscribers, include features such as designing personalized homes on Snap Map, sharing ultra-fast Snaps, and enhancing Bitmoji customization.

In a landscape where social media platforms often mimic each other’s offerings, Snapchat aims to set itself apart by enhancing user personalization and encouraging subscriptions, currently enjoyed by 9 million users.

Snapchat+ members can now create customized homes on Snap Map, visible to friends sharing their location. Users can choose from various styles and colors, from realistic designs to whimsical castles, offering a unique twist on location-based services like Apple’s Find My and Life360.

Additionally, subscribers can now feature their pets alongside their Bitmoji in chats, extending the pet visibility already present on Snap Map to all app interactions.

For non-subscribers, Snapchat introduces a “live mirror” feature in its Bitmoji Builder interface, facilitating easier customization based on real-time camera input. This innovation aims to streamline the personalization process by automatically generating Bitmoji reflections of users captured by the camera.

Snapchat also highlights its AI-powered Lenses, such as one allowing users to revisit their childhood selves, as part of its ongoing efforts to enrich user experiences with innovative features.
