Ballot boxes began arriving shortly after polls closed at 10 pm, and all boxes from the city’s six constituencies were in the hall by 11:30 pm.

As the nationwide exit poll results came in and votes were being counted, it became evident that Labour was experiencing success.

SNP candidates, many of whom had been MPs for nearly a decade, looked concerned as their agents and campaigners analyzed samples of the ballots.

Across the UK, early results showed increasing confidence among Labour supporters.

Sunderland Central was the first to declare, with Labour comfortably holding the seat.

In Glasgow, the Greens were optimistic about increasing their vote share. Although they were not expected to win any seats, they were looking to build momentum for the next Holyrood election.

At the Emirates Arena, the atmosphere at the six counts reflected the same narrative.

Labour anticipated a successful night in Glasgow, Scotland, and throughout the UK.

Meanwhile, the SNP appeared to be losing its stronghold on the city, which it had controlled since 2015, when it secured all seven seats.
