Worthing Borough Council has commissioned energy company Hemiko to build and operate a heat network in the town. The networks are an alternative to gas boilers and provide heating to homes and buildings through a series of insulated pipes. Worthing Heat Network will use power generated by large heat pumps and waste heat – technologies already in use in other parts of the UK and Europe. Peer-to-peer carsharing company Getaround has filed its first earnings report since going public a year ago via a SPAC combination. The company’s third-quarter earnings report details a company seeing quick revenue growth, but not enough top line yet to cover its expenses.  Getaround reported gross bookings of $69 million in the third-quarter, resulting in $23.8 million in revenue for the period, up from the $16.7 million in the same period last year. The battle between two of the world’s largest budget ecommerce and dropshipping companies, Temu and Shein has escalated this week. Temus has filed a fresh lawsuit against Shein for supposed anticompetitive conduct on Wednesday evening.In a 100-page complaint document, Temu describes a range of unlawful actions undertaken by Shein. The firm alleges that Shein used “Mafia-style” tactics to coerce its merchants, which include Amazon sellers, into severing ties.The latest complaint comes after Temu filed a separate lawsuit against Shein in July. Portslade-based The Tone Rangers raised over £200 for the Purple People kitchen food bank with a festive performance of Christmas favourites at the South Portslade Community Centre.
