Some 4,300 people across Brighton and Hove took the bus on Christmas Day as services kept families connected over the long weekend. Routes 1, 1A, 5B, 7, 12 and 49 were running throughout the day with drivers volunteering to work the shifts. A spokesman for the bus company said there were “far more volunteers than shifts available”.
