The development at St Giles Close in Shoreham is the first of Adur District Council’s small sites programme projects to be completed. The programme involves the use of the council’s brownfield land in Sompting, Lancing, Shoreham, Southwick and Fishersgate to create much-needed extra homes. At St Giles, more than a dozen old garages were demolished to make way for the two two-bedroom houses and two one-bedroom bungalows. Venture capitalists and founders are hoping — praying? — for exits to pick back up in 2024. A recent TechCrunch+ survey found that there is consensus among VCs that exits will start to rebound this year, but the when and the how are still a bit fuzzy.
