SpaceX is warning investors that it may dole out “significant equity” in “future transactions” following its upcoming IPO — language that was added amid constant industry gossip that CEO Elon Musk ultimately plans to merge his space-and-AI company with Tesla. The new language was tucked deep in the risk factors section of SpaceX’s first official amendment to its IPO filing, which was made public last month. The company tacked this sentence onto the end of the first paragraph of a risk about how mergers and acquisitions may go sideways: We may issue a significant amount of equity in connection with…
Europe’s startup economy often begins in discussions about places like London or Paris but the latest Dealroom Global Tech Ecosystem Index gives us another side to this. Europe’s advantage actually comes from a long list of smaller cities that are turning research and technical expertise into successful companies. Dealroom found that Europe accounts for 45 of the world’s top 100 tech ecosystems on a per capita basis, ahead of North America’s 40. The ranking measures startup activity, unicorn creation, enterprise value and university connections relative to population size. That result brings cities such as Cambridge, Ghent and Lausanne into view.…

The filing comes less than a week after Anthropic raised $65 billion in a Series H funding round that pushed its valuation to…
Bitmine Immersion Technologies has purchased another $52 million worth of Ether (ETH), with its chair, Tom Lee, saying that the token’s price isn’t yet reflecting the Ethereum blockchain’s strengths.“Over the past week, we acquired 26,497 ETH,” Lee said in a statement on Monday. “In our view, ETH prices are not reflecting the strengthening of Ethereum fundamentals, but then again, this is not surprising given we are in the early stages of crypto spring.”Bitmine is the largest Ether treasury company with 5.4 million ETH worth more than $10.5 billion. It had slowed its pace of buying earlier this month after scooping…
Atlas Menu, a cheat service for popular online video game Grand Theft Auto V, has been hacked, according to data breach notification website Have I Been Pwned. The stolen data included users’ email addresses, usernames, scrambled passwords, IP addresses, and support tickets, according to Have I Been Pwned, which said almost 64,000 accounts were part of the breach. Ironically, Atlas Menu claimed to offer “secure authentication and enhanced privacy through our advanced encryption techniques,” according to its official site, which is down at the time of writing. The hacker who claimed responsibility for the breach posted the allegedly stolen data…

SpaceX has added new language to its IPO filing that warns prospective investors about the company’s access to a potentially scarce resource: water. The company, which now includes Elon Musk’s AI company, xAI, wrote in an amended version of the filing on Monday that access to water — required to cool its data centers — is just as important as SpaceX’s ability to secure power, processors, and other critical resources. The addition comes amid an ever-evolving debate about how much water data centers use, and whether that usage is contributing to localized droughts that are being made worse by climate…
