Gillingham face two games in as many days this weekend as pre-season enters its final stages.
The Gills first take on Chatham Town tomorrow night (Friday) before facing Brentford B away in a behind-closed-doors game on Saturday.
Gills boss Gareth Ainsworth is looking forward to tackling their Medway neighbours.
“Chatham is always a great game,” said the Gills boss.
“It’s nice to go down there and it’s almost like Medway coming together. The communities are great. There’s a bit of rivalry, but in a friendly way.
“They’ve done fantastic to build that club up the way they have.”
Chatham are gearing up for another crack at promotion in the Isthmian Premier Division.
The Gills could face former Chatham Town star Sam Sene-Richardson on Saturday after he completed his move to Brentford B this week.
Gillingham are set to play another behind-closed-doors pre-season game next Friday, on the same day that they play Ebbsfleet United. That will end the run of warm-up games before they play Luton Town at home in the Carabao Cup.
Ainsworth said: “It’s come around very quick. I’m sure there’ll be lots of to’s and fro’s between now and then.
“We [as coaches] always say, just bring the games on. We hate pre-season. It’s all about getting them ready and that, but the [league] games are the ones that count.”
Friday’s game at Chatham kicks off at 7.45pm with adult tickets costing £8, concessions £5 and under-12s £2.
