Motorists are facing “utter chaos” due to fallen power cables that have closed part of a busy A-road.
The A257 Littlebourne Road in Canterbury has been shut this morning, with engineers from UK Power Networks (UKPN) at the scene.
One driver caught up in the disruption said: “It is utter chaos on the A257 at Littlebourne. The road is fully closed with no warning, and traffic is backed up on the route into the city.
“People are trying to turn around and head back. Drivers are fuming.”
According to Kent Highways, the road is expected to remain closed for the rest of the day.
