On November 25, 2023, at around 3.30am, Connor Appleton got involved in an argument with a group of women while driving on Spital Street.
He got out of his vehicle with a metal bar and struck one of the women on the head, knocking her to the ground.
Appleton then swung the bar at bystanders who tried to intervene before returning to his car and driving dangerously towards the group.
He hit a man with the vehicle, leaving him with injuries that required hospital treatment.
Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital for care.
Appleton was arrested at his home around two hours later.
He was charged with driving a motor vehicle dangerously, affray, attempt to cause grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon, and inflicting grievous bodily harm.
Appleton pleaded guilty to all charges.
He was sentenced to five years and one month in prison at Woolwich Crown Court on June 4.
