Anderson’s will open on King Street on July 10 inspired by classic Glasgow pubs, combining contemporary design, elevated pub fare, and a dedicated cultural space under one roof.

Upstairs, the pub offers a bright, comfortable atmosphere designed to suit everything from a quick pint to a leisurely lunch or a night out with friends , whilst downstairs, ‘The Institute’ offers a dedicated cultural space for live music, podcast recordings, and creative events.

Courtney Flynn, head of sales, PR, and communications for Merchant Pubs & Bars, said: “Glasgow has always had incredible pubs, places with real soul, personality, and a sense of belonging.

“With Anderson’s, we wanted to create something that feels instantly familiar but genuinely exciting at the same time.

“It’s about celebrating Glasgow hospitality at its finest; exceptional food without pretension, brilliant drinks, live culture, and warm service all under one roof.

“We truly believe Anderson’s has the potential to become a modern Glasgow institution.”

the venue, owned by Merchant Pubs & Bars, will serve unpasteurised Tennent’s delivered weekly by truck directly from the brewery.

The beer arrives straight from source, Wellpark Brewery – a mere mile down the road, resulting in a fresher, fuller and more flavourful pint than most people have experienced before.

The kitchen will be led by Inesa Dirginciute, Merchant Pubs & Bars’ first female head chef and former head chef at Michelin-starred London restaurant Angler.

The menu reimagines nostalgic Glasgow pub staples with a refined touch, including haggis, neeps and tatties, mince and tatties, and ham, egg and chips.

A playfully elevated offering includes crispy pancakes with beef massaman filling, smokie fishcakes, and a macaroni pie made with Isle of Mull cheese.

Dirginciute said: “Moving to Glasgow to lead the kitchen at Anderson’s felt like an incredible opportunity to create something special.

“The menu is rooted in comfort and nostalgia, but every dish is approached with the same care and attention you would expect in a Michelin-starred kitchen.”

Anderson’s also features artwork from renowned Glasgow artists including Rogue One, Gerard Burns, Stuart Kerr, and Ross Muir.

Their work, integrated throughout the venue, draws inspiration from classic Glasgow pub culture and city life.

The pub is named in honour of Mrs Anderson, a late 19th-century tavern owner known for her warmth and hospitality—a spirit the team aims to continue in this new venue.

Bookings for the new spot are now open from July 10 and you can find more information on the pub here.
