Fife singer and piper Cammy Barnes will lead a rousing rendition of Flower of Scotland ahead of Scotland’s World Cup clash with Morocco at the country’s largest national fanzone.

The special performance promises to set the tone for an emotional night in Glasgow on June 19.

Mr Barnes said: “It is already an honour to play TRNSMT but to now return to the stage after the festival and perform the national anthem ahead of the game fills me with such pride.

Glasgow Green is going to be special that night, and I want fans to really show their love for Scotland and our team over in the US.

“I want to see as many Scotland flags as possible, turning the crowd into a sea of saltires, just imagine the scenes – it is going to be epic.”

The national anthem will be performed just before kick-off in Scotland’s second World Cup match, which will be broadcast live from Boston on the same Main Stage used for TRNSMT.

Less than a month from kick-off, organisers are already encouraging fans to don their Scotland shirts and wave their flags for what promises to be an electric atmosphere.

Mr Barnes, who also opens Friday’s Main Stage at TRNSMT, will return to the venue to “rally the troops” ahead of the match.

Geoff Ellis, CEO of DF Concerts, said: “Having Cammy on the stage ahead of the game is going to be such an incredible moment and the perfect pre-match rallying cry for all our Scotland supporters in the crowd.

Glasgow Green is going to have a very unique feel this year and we want fans to embrace it, wear their Scotland tops, and bring a saltire to show their support and add colour to the game.

“It’s going to be a hugely special occasion and a unique moment.”
