Trains were unable to stop at a station due to a medical emergency.

A passenger was taken ill on a train at Chatham earlier this evening (May 29), and the emergency services were in attendance.

Trains cannot stop at Chatham Railway Station

Southeastern and Thameslink services were unable to stop at the station, although they could pass through.

Passengers could use their tickets at no extra cost on Arriva buses between Gillingham, Chatham and Rochester.

A spokesperson for Southeastern said they expected the station would be closed until 10pm, but by 7pm it had reopened.

Elsewhere, a fault with the signalling system at Faversham meant trains heading towards London were delayed, cancelled or revised.
