Detectives from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch have seized suspected Class B controlled drugs with an estimated street value of £270,000.
The seizures followed a property search where three suspects were arrested and taken into police custody.
Detective Inspector Miskelly said: “Officers conducted a proactive search of a property at the Maryville Street area of south Belfast on Thursday, May 14. A quantity of Class B Controlled Drugs with an estimated street value of £270,000, a large sum of cash, drugs paraphernalia and other items were seized for further forensic examinations.
“Three men aged 49, 22 and 18 years old were arrested on suspicion of drugs related offences and remain in police custody at this time.
“Our officers will continue to protect communities from the harm of illegal drugs. As a result of this excellent police work, a large quantity of suspected dangerous controlled drugs are now safely off our streets.
“Drugs have no place in our community and I am making a direct appeal to anyone with information about the illicit supply, possession or misuse of drugs to contact police on the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, you can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form.
