This year’s event starts and finishes at Keston Common on Sunday, May 10, with participants walking up to 11 miles in support of the hospice’s end-of-life care services across south London.
More than 3,000 people are expected to take part in the hospice’s biggest annual fundraiser, with supporters of all ages walking in memory of loved ones or to champion the work of the hospice.
This year, a family will be aiming to walk with around 100 friends and relatives in memory of their son, while a team of hospice nurses and clinicians will also be taking part. Walkers will pass the event’s Memory Tree, where they can dedicate a heart to someone who has died.
Last year, more than 450 hearts were placed on the tree.

Christine Davies, head of fundraising at St Christopher’s, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be returning to Keston Common for our annual Fun Walk. It’s one of the highlights of our year, bringing together thousands of supporters from across south London for a day that’s full of energy, connection, and purpose.
“Whether you’re walking with friends, bringing the family, or joining us for the first time, you’ll be part of something truly special.”
There are four route options: three, five, seven, or 11 miles. The day will also feature fairground stalls, pop‑up shops, live music, games, and food and drink.
One walker, Karen, whose son Scott was cared for at the hospice, said: “We are joining thousands of others at St Christopher’s Fun Walk this year because the hospice was there for our son, Scott, when he needed them. I know Scott would be so proud of us, as we were so proud of him.”
Ms Davies said every step makes a meaningful difference: “Now more than ever, events like this play a vital role in helping us raise the funds needed to provide crucial end of life care for local people, as well as support for their families and carers.”
