Carlisle Road has been cordoned off all day following the incident today (April 22) just after 1am.
Officers stopped a vehicle, with five men from Dartford and London arrested at the scene.
Two of the men were aged 25, two were aged 30 and one aged 55.
Six officers were assaulted during the incident, Kent Police has said.
Two of them were taken to hospital for serious injuries.
Now only one remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Four of the other officers sustained minor injuries.
Sniffer dogs have been spotted in the area as part of the road remains blocked off by police tape, with investigations ongoing.
