Drivers experienced delays during rush hour following a crash on the M2.
Traffic was held on the motorway coastbound between junction 5 for Sittingbourne and junction 6 for Faversham just after 5pm.
Police and ambulance were sent to the scene.
Kent Highways initially warned drivers to approach with caution, but it is understood the road reopened around 7pm.
