Sean Murray, 30, appeared in court accused of assaulting James Greenhorn, 61, in Tollcross in the East End of the city on February 9, 2026.

It is stated he travelled to Edinburgh and got on a train heading across the border to England.

Court papers state Murray chased after Mr Greenhorn and repeatedly struck him on the head and body with a knife.

The charge goes on to say Murray, of nearby Shettleston, repeatedly punched and kicked him on the head and body.

A second allegation states that Murray attempted to pervert the course of justice between February 9 and 11.

It is claimed that Murray boarded a train from Edinburgh Waverley train station to Liverpool.

The charge says this was done to avoid, detection, arrest and prosecution for the allegations against him.

Murray – who was represented by his lawyer Peter Malone – made no plea at a private hearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Murray was remanded in custody and committed for further examination by Sheriff Mary Shields.

He will appear again at court within the next eight days.
