Several Glasgow businesses, community figures and professionals were among those honoured at the 18th Scottish Asian and Business Awards 2025, which were presented by Asian CNCT and Saffron Events UK.

The awards ceremony, held on December 17 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow, recognised contributions in business, community, food, law, medicine and finance, and celebrated the legacy and impact of the Scottish Asian community over the past year.

Yasmin Mahmood, newly appointed chief executive of Oceanic Awards, said: “We’re incredibly proud to once again have the chance to celebrate the talented Scottish Asian business community.

“We commend the entrepreneurial spirit, dedication, personal and professional achievements and the huge contributions Scottish Asians have achieved in their respective industries.

“Those shortlisted for this event are the perfect role models for future generations of aspiring entrepreneurs and professionals.

“We want to congratulate all of our winners on their incredible accomplishments.”

Among this year’s winners was Mehvish Ashraf from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, who was named Medical Leader of the Year.

Shawlands Continental Foodstore in Glasgow was honoured as Asian Retailer of the Year.

Kiren Saeed Zubairi of the Scottish Government took home the award for Achievements in Civil Service/Third Sector, while outstanding achievement went to Harjinder Gharyal of Glasgow City Council.

In the business categories, Harjeet Kaur of Littles was named Business Executive of the Year, and Kirkstone was recognised as Best Professionals in Business.

Usman Nasim of Alfa Wholesale Limited received an Outstanding Achievement award in the Business Leader of the Year category.

Meanwhile, the One to Watch award was presented to Amrit Supra of Arup.

The Mohammed Ramzan Convenience Retailer of the Year went to Jaz Ali of Jaz’s Premier, with Daniall Nadeem of Nads Store receiving the Outstanding Achievement award in the same category.

Other winners included Mohammad Khan of FoodAsia, who was named Business Person of the Year.

Muhammad Zeeshan Shakir of the University of Dundee Business School won the award for achievements in education, whilst outstanding achievement went to Muhammad Zeeshan Shakir of the University of the West of Scotland.

Santosh Raga from Albyn Hospital won Medical Professional of the Year while outstanding achievement went to Imran Inam of the Beautox Clinic.

Fahim Baqir of the Well Foundation won the Community Light of the Year award while outstanding achievement went to Christina Sandhu of the Scottish Asian Business Association.

The SME Business of the Year went to Central FS and Poonam and Puneet Gupta of PG Pape were named Scots of the Year.
