The final of the Cecil Leitch 5 Club Tournament was held at Wrotham Heath Golf Club – with charity getting a welcome cash boost.

It was the culmination of a tournament featuring more than 1,700 players from clubs across the county competing for the main prizes, with in excess of 63 men and women contesting the finale.

The ladies’ winner was Westerham GC’s Amanda Sendall, off a handicap of 28, as she scored 36 points to secure the trophy.

Ranulf Gibson, of Sundridge Park GC, was presented with the men’s prize by Wrotham’s club captain Paul Baines after he had scored 39 off an eight handicap.

While they were unlucky with the weather, their hosts at Wrotham Heath looked after every aspect of the day and ensured all golfers were made to feel welcome.

The tournament raised more than £10,000 overall for The Kent County Playing Fields Association charity.
