Five people were passed into the care of paramedics following a kitchen fire in Dartford. The incident happened in Pepys Close at around 7.20pm on Sunday (December 14).

Three fire engines attended and crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. The KFRS Voluntary Response Team attended to support affected residents.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said five people were passed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance service for smoke inhalation.

The spokesperson added: “The cause is not yet known.”
