A trio of Gillingham’s young professionals are starting new loan spells in non-league.

Logan Dobbs has joined Welling United, Harry Webster has moved to fellow Isthmian Premier side Ramsgate and goalkeeper Taite Holtam returns to Ashford United.

The Gills have a handful of players on the fringes of the first team who will be heading out to play football out on loan.

Dobbs, 18, has joined Lee Martin’s Welling United and has already made his first appearance for them.

He played at Park View Road on Friday night in the Wings’ final pre-season game against a Millwall XI, a match that ended 2-2.

The central defender Dobbs has joined Welling on loan until January 3.

Dobbs started pre-season injured but featured for the Gills in friendly matches against Luton Town, Ebbsfleet United and Chatham Town.

He had a loan spell at Burgess Hill last season, part of a promotion-winning side that clinched a place in the Isthmian Premier.

Welling’s season starts next Saturday away at Cheshunt.

Ramsgate, meanwhile, have added Harry Webster to their squad ahead of the new season.

The right-back spent time on loan at Chatham Town last season.

Webster, 18, has made four first team appearances for the Gills and played in games this summer against Reading, Southampton and Luton.

The Rams are at home to Hastings United on Saturday (today) and start their Isthmian Premier Division season at home to Whitehawk.

Ashford start their season with an FA Cup extra preliminary round tie away to Haywards Heath. Their first league game next weekend is against Sheppey United.

Holtam, 20, enjoyed a loan spell at Ashford last season where he impressed.

He made his Football League debut last season in a 1-0 win for the Gills against MK Dons at Priestfield and also played against Cheltenham Town in a 1-1 away draw.
