The London Borough of Bromley has announced a public notice regarding temporary prohibitions on vehicle traffic in various roads within the borough.
This is to allow Network Rail to complete essential railway bridge surveys and repairs.
The restrictions will apply to Milk Street in Bromley, Sheepcote Lane in St Mary Cray, and Station Approach in Orpington.
The notice states that no vehicles will be allowed to wait in these streets until the works are finished.
Any vehicles found waiting in contravention of this restriction may be removed under the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
The council also stated that no vehicles will be allowed to proceed in these streets in a direction other than that indicated by traffic signs.
Motorists are advised that during these prohibitions, displaced traffic will be diverted via local streets as appropriate.
However, the prohibitions will not apply to cul-de-sacs.
The restrictions will only apply during such times and to the extent indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
The order will come into effect on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, with no specified finish date.
The order will have a maximum duration of 18 months, and works will begin on or after the commencement date of the order.
Access to properties will be maintained as far as is practicable from either side of the closure as appropriate.
Emergency access and egress routes will be maintained at all times.
The order will not apply to vehicles being used in connection with the works, nor will it apply to anything done with the permission or direction of a police officer in uniform or a traffic warden.
Daniel Jones, director of environment and public protection, said: “The prohibitions referred to in Paragraph 1 above shall apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
