The remains of 51-year-old Mark Duncan Street were found at Camber Sands on January 27, 2025. 

Area coroner for Dorset Brendan Allen opened the inquest into Mr Street’s death on February 26, 2025. 

Coroner’s officer Chloe Day told Dorset Coroner’s Court that Mr Street lived in Blandford Road in Poole and worked as a carpenter. 

On January 27, officers were alerted to reports of human remains from a member of the public. 

Officers have confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances involved with the death of Mr Street. 

Mr Street was formally identified by DNA comparison. 

A post-mortem examination was conducted by a doctor from Conquest Hospital in Hastings on January 28, 2025. 

Mr Street’s provisional cause of death was found to be unascertained. 

Mr Allen is calling for various statements from the police and Mr Street’s GP before the full inquest later on in the year. 

The area coroner for Dorset stated that the deadline for these statements will be on April 9, 2025. 

Mr Allen formerly adjourned the inquest for a further hearing to be held on September 5, 2025, at 10am.
