Forecasters say there will be heavy rainfall throughout the morning, bringing disruption on the roads and potential flooding.  

The morning commute is likely to be affected, with heavy spray on the roads and possible disruption to public transport. People are advised to plan ahead.

The yellow alert was put in place on Monday night and lasts until 1pm on Tuesday.  

It stretches from Dumfries and Wigtown in the south to Greenock, Glasgow and as far as Stirling in the north.

Accumulations of 30 mm are expected widely across the warning area with 40 to 60 mm falling over hills. Rain will clear from the west during Tuesday afternoon.”
