Football club bosses say their “thoughts and prayers” are with a fan after a medical emergency saw a non-league match called off.

Chatham Town was hosting Hastings United in the Isthmian Premier Division when the game was suspended after 30 minutes.

An air ambulance landed at the Bauvill Stadium after the medical incident sparked an emergency response in the main stand.

In a statement today, Hastings United said: “Everyone at HUFC would like to pass on our thanks and gratitude to the staff at Chatham Town, their medical team, paramedics and air ambulance staff who attended the medical emergency of one of our supporters.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the supporter and his family at this time.”

Chatham Town said in a statement: “Everyone associated with the club would like to pass on our best wishes to the Hastings supporter who suffered a medical emergency at the stadium during the game.

“We also extend our thanks and gratitude for the amazing work of the paramedics and stadium support team.”

No information has been provided on the spectator’s condition.
