We previously reported officers were called to Mill Road at around 4pm on Thursday (January 16) following a report of a 16-year-old girl and woman, 41, having been assaulted inside a flat. 

They were taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment (QEUH) and were later discharged.

Police say a man also “barricaded” himself inside a flat and a fire was set before he left via the balcony. 

He was also taken to QEUH for treatment. His condition is not known. 

A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. 

An investigation remains ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident and are appealing for help for the public.

Detective Inspector Gary Smillie said: “The area was busy at the time and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident and who has not already spoken to police to contact us.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time and who may have dash-cam footage or private CCTV which could assist to get in touch.

“I would also like to extend my thanks to the residents nearby who were impacted by this for their patience and cooperation and the other emergency services for their support.”
