The owners of the Radisson Red have taken over the Campanile Hotel building and the North Rotunda and are turning them into a new hotel and an event venue.
The Prize by Radisson will be in a redeveloped building on the riverside site yards from the Hydro, Armadillo and SEC.

The group also has plans to turn the North Rotunda into a “multi-event and leisure venue”, including weddings.
It is planned to open the new facilities in 2026 before the Commonwealth Games in the city.
Forrest Hotels Ltd, owners of Radisson Red, has chosen Glasgow for the first Prize branded hotel in the UK and is to begin work to transform the old Campanile Hotel.
The new hotel will have 163 bedrooms and a bar and restaurant space.

“We have lodged a planning application and plan to have this new hotel open for the Commonwealth Games in 2026.”

The hotel will add to the growing number around the Scottish Events Campus as the venue increases the number of visitors coming to the city for concerts and conferences.

The hotel will be the first in the UK for the Prize brand which already has hotels in northern Europe, including Vienna in Austria, Antwerp in Belgium and Hamburg in Germany.
