Francesca, who is an interior designer from East Sussex, and Livi, a beautician and model from Horsham, are battling it out for the cash prize on the third series of the BBC production.

On Wednesday evening, presenter Claudia Winkleman welcomed a batch of new contestants to the game of “detection, backstabbing and trust”, where the aim is to win up to £120,000.

The tense game show sees the contestants attempt to identify who among them are “faithfuls” and “traitors”, with the traitors plotting to murder the faithfuls and the faithfuls trying to identify and banish the traitors.

Finalists have a chance of winning a chunk of the prize, but if a traitor survives until the very end, unidentified, they take home the full prize pot, while any faithfuls left go home with nothing.

Both Francesca, 44, and Livi, 26, have not had as much airtime as some of their fellow contestants yet but made it through the first two episodes relatively unscathed.

What happened in the first two episodes?

While journeying to Andross Castle in the Scottish Highlands, where the show is filmed, the contestants were told that three passengers would need to disembark the train to whittle down numbers from 25 to 22.

Jack, Fozia and Alexander volunteered to step off the train and end their Traitors journey.

Later in the episode, Claudia chose her three traitors and they committed their first “murder”.

The Traitors chose to eliminate 34-year-old communication scientist Yin from Berkshire.

In the second episode, Elen was eliminated at the round table by her fellow faithfuls who suspected her of being a traitor.

Also banished was Nathan and the Traitors murdered Keith.

Who are the Traitors?

The Traitors sometimes recruit new people from the faithfuls and they can also get banished so it’s likely the group will change as the series continues.

But for now, the traitors are 70-year-old retired opera singer Linda, 29-year-old call centre manager Minah and 27-year-old financial investigator Armani.

The next episode will air on BBC One tonight at 9pm.
