A vehicle caught fire in Falmer Road, near Woodingdean, after the driver noticed smoke issuing from the engine.

At 1:27pm on Saturday one fire engine from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service arrived on the scene, using two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

The road was closed for over an hour with traffic at a standstill.
