London, UK – October 14, 2024: The Shree Jagannatha Society UK (SJSUK), a prominent registered charity with a mission to establish London as a hub for Jagannatha Culture in Europe, has officially ended its association with Finnest Group. The group had initially pledged a substantial sum of £25 million (approx. Rs. 250 crores) towards the construction of the Shree Jagannatha Mandir London, a project aimed at building a grand temple dedicated to Lord Jagannatha in the UK capital by 2024.

In January 2023, the Finnest Group publicly committed to this significant financial contribution. However, despite a formal announcement in May 2023 and repeated assurances made both in public and private forums, no funds have been transferred for the temple construction, and no land has been secured. This lack of progress has caused notable delays in the inception of the project.

Given the pressing need to move forward and to ensure the timely completion of the temple, SJSUK has taken the decision to part ways with Finnest Group. The trustees of SJSUK have requested that the group and its representatives cease any further references to the organization or the Shree Jagannatha Mandir London project in public, political, or socio-cultural platforms.

Despite the setback, SJSUK remains unwavering in its commitment to realizing the vision of the Shree Jagannatha Mandir London. The trustees have reaffirmed their dedication to the cause and are now seeking generous donations from the global community of Jagannatha devotees. With faith in the blessings of Mahaprabhu Jagannatha, the trustees are confident that the temple will soon become a reality, serving as a spiritual and cultural landmark for the global Odia community.

In their statement, the trustees shared a message of hope and devotion:
Jagannatha Swami Nayana Pathagami Bhabatume” — May Lord Jagannatha always be the guide on our path.
