The two 18-year-olds were taken to hospital after the smash between a Nissan Micra and a Kia Venga yesterday evening.

Sussex Police are now appealing for witnesses to the crash, which left two other people injured.

A spokesman for the force said they were called to the crash on the B2116 near Plumpton College at around 8.30pm on September 24.

The driver of the Nissan, an 18-year-old man from Hailsham, and a passenger, an 18-year-old woman from Ringmer, suffered serious injuries and were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital for treatment.

An 18-year-old man from Adversane near Pulborough and an 18-year-old woman from Arundel, who were both also passengers in the Nissan, suffered minor injuries and were also taken to the Royal Sussex.

The force spokesman said: “Officers are investigating and want to speak with anyone with relevant information about the collision.

“This includes witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage of the collision or of the vehicles in the area prior to the collision.

“Information can be reported to Sussex Police online or on 101, quoting Operation Longridge.”
