James Adams had carried the victim into his bedroom before attempting to rape her.
The woman had earlier been watching TV with the 41-year-old at the flat in Glasgow’s Wyndford area on April 19, 2022. She had been drinking alcohol.
Prosecutors stated Adams took advantage of her while she was “awake, unresponsive, immobile and incapable of giving consent” to sexual activity.
Advocate depute Ruaraidh Ferguson today told the High Court in Glasgow: “She described feeling like she was paralysed, but she was fully aware what was happening.”
The victim left the flat in the early hours but was involved in a video call with Adams later that day.
Mr Ferguson said Adams made “several admissions” during this to what he had done.
He was unaware that he was being recorded at the time.

Adams – a first offender – was arrested later in 2022 after police were alerted.
The hearing was told he had been examined by a psychiatrist to assess that he was fit for any trial before he admitted to his guilt to the attempted rape charge via his lawyer Patricia Baillie today.
The defence advocate stated Adams had “never demurred from his responsibility” to what he had done.
Lord Clark continued bail for Adams as sentencing was deferred until next month for reports.
Adams was put on the sex offenders list.
