M J Prime Property proposed converting Turnpike House on High Street, Crawley, into 64 one-bedroom flats. The plan included five floors of flats, each featuring a bedroom, bathroom, and open-plan kitchen and living room. The two underground levels were designated for car parking.

Despite the developer’s claim that the new flats would not negatively impact local traffic, Crawley Borough Council rejected the application for prior approval. The council cited the lack of evidence regarding highway impacts, insufficient parking provisions—including cycle spaces, disabled parking, and EV charging stations—and inadequate information about refuse, recycling, and site access for refuse vehicles.

The application was officially rejected on August 6.
