A27: Car fire partially closed road near Falmer - UK Daily: Tech, Science, Business & Lifestyle News Updates



Smoke and fire poured from the car yesterday afternoon shortly before the road was partially closed heading eastbound.

Two lanes of the A27 were closed as emergency services dealt with the car fire which enveloped the vehicle.

Witnesses to the scene reported that the occupants of the car were “safe”.

Footage of the car fire on the A27 near Falmer shows flames billowing from the bonnet and cabin of the car as traffic streamed past in the opposite direction.

Smoke from the fire could be seen over the Amex Stadium nearby as fans continued to watch Albion’s 1-1 draw with Everton.

Traffic data showed the road was part closed shortly before 5pm while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Sussex Police were approached for comment.
