A man has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into a graveyard attack involving a noxious substance.

The victim was walking along Manston Road, Ramsgate, at around 8.20pm on Sunday, February 11 and had the substance thrown at him as he entered St Laurence Graveyard.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment for burns and he has since been discharged.

An appeal was launched by police and increased police patrols were carried out in the area. CCTV was also reviewed.

Now, as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident, a 22-year-old man from Ramsgate has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

He was arrested yesterday (Tuesday) and he has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives continue to urge anyone with any information who has yet to come forward to get in touch.

They remain very keen to speak to a man who is believed to have walked out of the churchyard around 9pm.

The man is described as white, in his mid to late 20s, with short dark hair and glasses and wearing blue jeans, a black coat with a hood and black headphones.

He is not being treated as a suspect, but officers think he could have witnessed something significant and might have information to help enquiries.
