Sir Rod Stewart pays tribute to Scottish roots on Hogmanay - UK Daily: Tech, Science, Business & Lifestyle News Updates

The legendary rocker, 78, donned a traditional red tartan kilt with his sons Alastair, 18, and Aiden, 12. He was joined by wife Penny Lancaster, 52.

He told fans the move was to honour his late father Robert, who is Scottish.

Taking to Instagram, he posted: “A dedication to my wonderful Scottish father. Happy New Year.”

The Celtic-loving singer, however, baffled one fan after making his debut on Jools Holland Annual Hootenanny show on the BBC which aired on the same night.

One fan joked: “Thought you was at the BBC. Saw you at Milton Keynes Rod and you were superb. Legend.”

Another added: “Looking fabulous. Obviously.”
