Wickham Park School in West Wickham will offer SEN provision for children aged five to 19 and is currently awaiting registration from the Department for Education.
The school, in a former Methodist church, will cater for up to 70 young people with complex needs, including autism and social, emotional and mental health challenges.
The school brings primary and secondary education together in one setting, allowing children to remain in a familiar and supportive environment as they grow.
Headteacher Hayley Gibbs said: “Our therapeutic approach supports pupils to develop emotional regulation, confidence and positive relationships, enabling them to re-engage successfully with education.”
The building has been refurbished in partnership with Nine Points Property.
It now includes breakout spaces for personalised learning, one-to-one support, and outdoor areas designed for play, sensory exploration, and emotional regulation.

Andrew Kitterick, managing director of education at Horizon, said: “As local needs continue to increase, we’re committed to supporting children, local authorities, parents and carers across West Wickham and the surrounding areas.
“Our aim is to keep children closer to home, reducing the need for out-of-area placements and long travel times. This ensures they remain rooted in their communities and connected to their families and friendships.
“By delivering therapeutic-led, outcomes-focused education locally, we ensure every child receives the right support at the right time, empowering them to achieve the positive futures they deserve. We look forward to welcoming a brand-new team and cohort of children very soon.”
James Blake, managing director of Nine Points Property, said: “This has been a very exciting project for Nine Points Property.
“Thanks to the collaborative relationship we have with Horizon, as well as the wider professional team, we have managed to deliver the school on time and on budget. A project the whole NPP team is very proud of.”
Wickham Park School is part of Horizon Care & Education, which supports more than 800 children and young people across England each year. The organisation provides specialist education, residential care, and supported accommodation.
