It has taken the local out of local radio, drastically cutting the number of hours of locally produced shows you’ll hear on BBC Radio Kent- and intends to write more news online, directly competing with your local newspaper’s website, which themselves are currently battling with tech platforms like Google, Meta and Apple for a fair share of the value generated by the content created.
