Goalkeeper Lennon MacLorg can’t wait to get started after joining the club he has supported all his life.
MacLorg, 20, has joined Gillingham as back-up to first-choice goalkeeper Ollie Wright.
The new signing joins Taite Holtam and fellow arrival Wright in a new-look goalkeeping department.
MacLorg joins the Gills after most recently being part of Charlton’s under-21 set-up, having previously been with Rochdale.
During his time at Charlton, he had loan spells with Braintree Town and Whitehawk.
Following his move, he said: “I have grown up my whole life supporting this team and when I heard about it I was just buzzing to get it done – I can’t wait.
“It’s every kid’s dream to play for a team they support and I have grown up around here and followed The Gills home and away. This is more than a club to me. A fan and now a player. This is my home and I will give it everything. “
His arrival completes Gillingham’s goalkeeping department.
Ainsworth’s No. 1 choice is Wright, who has joined on loan from Southampton after spending last season at Accrington Stanley, with MacLorg and Holtam expected to compete for a place on the bench.
