Indonesia will soon become the latest country to pass laws restricting children from accessing social media, following in the footsteps of Australia and its neighbor Malaysia. But unlike Australia, which has banned users under 16 from social media altogether, Indonesia is taking a more age-gated approach to its restrictions. Russia’s central bank is weighing a plan that would allow banks and brokerage firms to operate cryptocurrency exchanges through a simplified licensing pathway tied to their existing financial permits, according to remarks from Governor Elvira Nabiullina. On Saturday, August 17, 2024, a family reported the theft of jewellery and other valuable items from their room at the Hilton Hotel, Eastway, South Terminal, Gatwick Airport. The family were staying at the hotel in two adjoining rooms but had left one of the doors on the latch while their luggage was being brought into the room. Within a 10-minute period from 9.35pm and 9.45pm, a bag containing thousands of pounds of jewellery and other items with a value of £8,000 was taken. Health tech giant TriZetto has confirmed that more than 3.4 million people’s personal and health information was stolen in a 2024 cyberattack, which the company failed to detect for almost a year. The tech company, owned by multinational conglomerate Cognizant, serves around 200 million people across 875,000 healthcare providers throughout the U.S., according to its website. City Detect, a company that uses vision AI to help local governments monitor the health of buildings and neighborhoods, announced on Friday a $13 million Series A round led by Prudence Venture Capital.
