The electric gate engineers, known only as Josh and Wayne, were driving down Chitcombe Road, which connects Rye and Robertsbridge, on Tuesday when they were forced to stop at a police cordon. Officers at the scene were waiting for engineers to turn up to clear the trees from the road when the lads hopped out of their van to offer some help. It comes after Scottish Water (SW) said there “appeared to be an issue” with the road drain which is located on Glasgow Road near Clydebank and District Golf Club. The drain is however not within SW’s infrastructure and the issue was therefore passed over to West Dunbartonshire Council (WDC).
