Premier Inn is hoping to open a second hotel in Brighton in West Street, adding to its existing site in North Street. Along with 185 bedrooms, the new hotel would also boast its own restaurant and bar and storage for bikes. The incident was flagged by SNP Councillor John Shaw who said that he was contacted by a constituent about the problem on Ferry Road. The local councillor claims that the flooding occurred six days after the pumping station at North Lodge in Renfrew was turned back on, causing a burst pipe.
