Emergency services were called to Garriochmill Way, Woodside, at 5pm this evening following reports of an electrical fire.
Scottish Fire and Rescue say they sent two appliances to the scene to deal with the incident.
Some residents have reported hearing an “explosion” before the power went out.
Pictures shared with the Glasgow Times, shows the scene at around 6pm, being swarmed with firefighter who are assessing the area.
A video posted on social media shows firefighters wandering around the scene to make sure the area is safe after the incident.
Firefighter assessed the scene and made the area safe before leaving at around 6.15pm.
However, 13 postcode in the surrounding area have been hit with a power outage.
The affected areas are G4 9HZ, G20 6NH, G20 6NQ, G20 6NG. G20 6LL, G20 6LT, G20 6ND, G20 6NN, G20 6LW, G20 6LX, G20 6LA, G20 6NB and G20 1AA.
Scottish Power say they are aware of the incident and have sent engineers to the site around 6.30pm.
The current estimated repair time is 8.14pm.
A spokesperson for SP Energy Networks said: “Engineers are currently onsite in Henderson Street in the Maryhill area of Glasgow in response to a network fault, which affected power supplies to almost 300 customers.
“The team are working to get all customers back on supply as quickly as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
